  • The management of the facility has developed “HOUSE RULES”. Employees, residents and visitors must comply with these requirements. These rules will be posted in the kitchen area on the bulletin board, and will be reviewed with each resident and employees.


    1. This is a smoke-free home at all times.

    2. Assault of abuse of any kind is not permitted to resident or to staff; stall to resident; or staff to staff.

    3. Stealing or rummaging through other residents’ belongings or facility property is prohibited.

    4. No destruction of personal property or house property.

    5. No Loitering outside of the house. Music is to be played at reasonable level.

    6. The television volume should be reasonable during the night so as not to disturb other residents.

    7. Kitchen area is off limits when unsupervised for resident’s safety.

    8. No vulgar, abusive, or derogatory speech or harassment of any kind.

    9. All residents arriving at any late house, should give the manager advance notice.

    10. Residents are allowed visits at any time. There are no overnight visits except in cases of emergency for safety reasons.

    11. No use of illicit drugs or alcohol in the house.

    12. Meals are reserved (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) and snacks are provided 24/7 days a week.

  • A resident of an assisted living facility has the right to:

    • Be treated with consideration, respect, and full recognition of the resident human dignity and individuality.

    • Receive treatment, care and services that are adequate, appropriate and in compliance with relevant State, Local and Federal laws and regulations.

    • Privacy, including the right to have staff knock on the resident’s door before entering, unless the staff member knows the resident is asleep.

    • Be free from mental, verbal, sexual and physical abuse, involuntary seclusion and exploitation. (See Abuse Policy)

    • Be free from chemical and physical and chemical restraints.

    • Confidentiality (See policy on confidentiality)

    • Manage personal affairs.

    • Maintain legal counsel.

    • Attend or not religious services as the resident chooses and receive visits from members of the clergy.

    • Possess or use personal clothing and other personal effects to a reasonable extent, and to have reasonable security for those effects in accordance with the assisted living Programs security policy.

    • Determine dress, hairstyle or other personal effects according to individual preference, unless the personal hygiene of the resident is compromised.

    • Meet or visit privately with an individual the resident chooses, subject to reasonable restrictions on visiting hours and place, which should be posted by assisted living manager.

    • Make suggestions, complaints or present grieves on behalf of the resident or others to the assisted living manager, government agencies or other persons without threat or fear of retaliation. (See Grievance Policy)

    • Have access to writing instruments, stationery and postage.

    • Receive a prompt, reasonable response from an assisted living manager or staff to a personal request of the resident.

    • Receive and send correspondence, without delay, and without correspondence being opened, censored, controlled or restricted, except on request of the resident or resident’s representative.

    • Receive notice before a resident’s roommate is changed, and to the extent possible, have input into the choice of roommate.

    • Have reasonable access to the private use of a common use telephone within the facility.

    • Participate in planning the resident’s service plan and medical treatment.

    • Refuse treatment after the possible consequences of refusing treatment are fully explained.

    • Retained personal clothing and possessions as space permits with the understanding that the assisted living program may limit the number of personal possessions retained at the facility for the health and safety of other residents.

    • If possible and not medically contraindicated, when spouses are residents of the same assisted living program, they may share a room, if both spouses agree to this arrangement.

    • A resident pay not be assigned to do any work for the assisted living program without the resident consent and appropriate compensation, unless the resident declines to be compensated.

    • A Medicaid Waiver resident may not be assigned to do any work for the assisted living program facility.
